The Bella Cascinaia via ferrata is located on the Hüttschlager Wandl in the southern end of the valley (just a few minutes' drive from Großarl) and is the undisputed king among the sport climbing routes in the region. It ascends steeply and spectacularly through a gray limestone wall.
- Geographical Location & Accessibility: The start is in the neighboring village of Hüttschlag (about 8 km from Großarl). From the parking lot in the village center, it’s about a 20-minute hike to the base of the Hüttschlager Wand.
- Difficulty: C to D (difficult – requires good arm strength and no fear of heights)

Also located at the mighty Hüttschlager Wall, the Franz-Josefs-Steig closes the gap for ambitious via ferrata climbers. It skillfully winds through the natural weaknesses of the rock face, offering an intense vertical experience.
- Geographical Location & Accessibility: Entry directly at the Hüttschlager Wall (approach similar to Bella Cascinaia via the Hüttschlager village center).
- Difficulty: C (Intermediate / Athletic)

Practice Via Ferrata Großarl (Gamsstall)
The Seewand Via Ferrata is the exact opposite of the wild Wurmwand ridge. This very short, extremely charming route is laid out just above the water level of the idyllic Zauchensee and is the perfect area for via ferrata beginners, leisure climbers, and active families.
- Location & Accessibility: Located in the neighboring World Cup resort Zauchensee, about 30 minutes by car from Obertauern (access via Altenmarkt). The start is right on the shady east shore of the lake and can be reached in just 5 minutes on foot from the main parking lot.
- Difficulty: A to B (Very easy, ideal for a first try)
- Key Facts: Climbing time: approx. 45 minutes | Elevation gain: approx. 60 m | Approach: 5 min.
- Character: A creative and very low-level route. It mostly runs traversing just above the shoreline and water. The big highlight for children and beginners are the wobbly suspension bridges and wooden elements that playfully train balance.
