The Powder Snow & Mogul Highlight
The Himmelreich Ski Route (Slope 11)
For those seeking an extra thrill off the groomed slopes, the area around the Hochbrandbahn offers opportunities for off-piste skiing. Important note: The originally named “Himmelreich Ski Route (Slope 11)” could not be verified. “Himmelreich” in the Großarltal is actually the name of a reservoir lake (1,740 m) near the Kieserlbahn mountain station, which is used in summer for a sky cinema and a water playground – it is not a black winter ski route.
- Geographical Location & Accessibility: Accessible via the mountain station of the Hochbrandbahn.
- Difficulty: Black / Ski Route (Very difficult / For experts and freeriders)
- Key Facts: Length: approx. 2.0 km | Special feature: Untracked / Natural snow
Character: Selective, steep, and depending on snow conditions, full of powder snow or challenging moguls. Precise skiing technique and endurance are required to master the steep sections cleanly.
